The Importance of Sound, Bhajans and Vibrations
Disciple fo Amma
Talk • Music • Meditation
With As modern science has finally realized, this whole universe is nothing but energy, vibration. Yet, this is no new finding. The ancient Indian sages and most ancient cultures around the world have understood this fact since time immemorial.
In today's world, more often than not we unconsciously expose ourselves to energy and vibrations that are not conducive to our spiritual growth. However, with conscious effort, we can utilize the tremendous power of vibration and sound to our spiritual advantage, through chanting and devotional singing.
The talk will serve as an int
roduction to this spiritual science, and to a great spiritual leader who practices it -- Mata Amritanandamayi.

Poetry Slam
It's the longest-running slam in Omaha, often featuring
some of the best performance poets in the nation.
Open mic starts at 7:30 followed by the Slam • Sign up BEFORE 7:30; signup is limited

What is a Poetry Slam? It's competition poetry; meaning humor, politics, enlightenment,
sex, entertainment masquerading as literature, literature masquerading as entertainment.
Poets read, then judges chosen from the audience flash Olympic-style scoring (ranging from 1 to 10) based on both the writing and performance of the poem.  This goes on for 3 rounds to determine somebody with a high score that we can declare as the winner. In truth, everyone who adds to the evening should be considered a winner, but since we only have one Golden Monkey trophy, we have to figure out some way to give it out.

August 29, 2015 • 6:30 Seating • 7pm Puja • Sponsorship is $100
Bhagavati Seva Puja
An Ancient Vedic Puja Ceremony done to restore balance
in the environment and bring peace within us and the world.
Performed By Bri. Remandevi
From Amritapuri Ashram Disciple of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi
The puja will last approximately two hours. Prasad will be served afterwards

Sponsorship registers you for a special intention. You can request a Sankalpa in a specific area of your life or for a loved one. Puja sponsorship is $100. You do not need to be present to receive the benefits of the puja. Please include your date of birth and Birth Star when registering.
Your request will be included in this evenings puja.
Sankalpa is a Sanskrit word meaning good intention, an oath or resolution.

This Bhagavati Seva Puja is performed in the South Indian Kerala tradition as it is done in Amritapuri.  It's a ceremony to the Goddess in the 3 aspects within the trinity, as Creator, Sustainer, and Transformer, conferring both spiritual and material welfare. Among these are spiritual and scholastic knowledge, prosperity, and fulfillment of wishes, protection from miseries and negative forces and removal of obstacles. This puja is for protection, fulfillment of wishes and for spiritual benefits.
Puja is prayer ceremony to the Divine performed to keep us in harmony with cosmic forces,
thereby removing and overcoming the sorrows of life and bringing spiritual upliftment.  By doing puja, thoughts and vibrations of spiritual
forces are created around us.  These spiritual forces work to eliminate the negative influences in our life and help surround us with positive
energy which can bring us peace of mind, material prosperity and enable us to more clearly touch the Divine, our true nature.

A limited number of volunteers are needed to help with the puja. To make arrangements to attend as a volunteer, contact Sudha: 402.740.0366
All proceeds cover cost of puja supplies and to support Amma’s humanitarian activities.
