5-8pm$FREE

The Old Market Gallery Walk is a fun, FREE art tour through downtown Omaha. Join us the second Wednesday of every month for the best walking tour of the arts scene in Omaha! Tour the galleries and meet the artists - admission is FREE.

William Holland

Featured on many album covers, magazines, t-shirts, fliers, and more, the ink and watercolor art of William Holland has brought him into the spotlight. Most visual artists in the Midwest are classically trained, and specialize in the more traditional methods. Holland has done nothing of the sort. Instead, he has taken tried and tested media and developed a style all his own, a style not only surreal, but often going against the very grain of the Midwest.

Jeffrey Koterba

Jeffrey Koterba is an award-winning cartoonist for the Omaha World-Herald.

His work is distributed through King Features Syndicate to 400 newspapers nationwide, and have appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In 2010, two of Koterba’s cartoons flew aboard space shuttle Discovery.

Koterba’s memoir, Inklings, was named a Chicago Tribune Favorite Nonfiction book of 2009. Entertainment Weekly called Inklings “a powerful and moving portrait of an artist.”

His band, Prairie Cats, has performed at the South by Southwest Music Festival, and at the Derby Lounge in Hollywood.

Nov. 12 - Meditation, Mindfulness, & Spreading the Joy of an Awakened Heart
with Richard Potter

What is the ‘Great Work” for our time? It is to keep our minds and hearts clear and purified by gaining mastery over our thoughts, feelings, and actions. By performing this work we find ourselves bathed in light, infused with joy, and we discover the deep peace which is the nature of our soul. This has been the work of mystics from time immemorial but it is especially important at times of disharmony. In times like those in which we live, the spiritual person becomes a salve to heal the wounds of the earth and those who abide in its atmosphere. In this workshop we will clear and purify our minds and hearts and also learn techniques to use our quiet and joyful hearts to affect the larger environment.

Richard Potter is a senior teacher for the Sufi Order International and has been a spiritual guide and teacher for three decades. He has also published the books Authentic Spirituality and Spiritual Development for Beginners. Richard has held classes and led Sufi dancing evenings over the years at OM.
