What is NLP? NLPor Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a transformational psychology
field started in the 70s by John Grinder and Richard Bandler. John and Richard modeled
patterns of excellence in business, sales, leadership, health, personal and professional
development, etc. They modeled experts who consistently got exceptional results in their
area of expertise. They then turned these patterns of excellence into step by step
procedures and taught the patterns using best practices. The outcome - Practitioners
of NLP quickly internalize patterns of excellence and duplicate the results of experts.
Today, NLPers are modeling and teaching hundreds of patterns of excellence
drawn from every field of expertise.

Poetry Slam at OM!
Saturday • November 9 • 7:30pm • $7
Open mic starts at 7:30 followed by the Slam • Sign up BEFORE 7:30; signup is limited

What is a Poetry Slam?
It's competition poetry; meaning humor, politics, enlightenment, sex, entertainment masquerading as literature, literature masquerading as entertainment. Poets will read, then judges will flash Olympic-style scoring to determine who goes on to the next round until there's just one poet left standing as the champion. In truth, everyone who adds to the evening should be considered a winner, but since we only have one Golden Monkey trophy, we have to figure out some way to give it out. It's a lot of fun!

Hosted by Matt Mason. Open mic starts at 7:30 followed by the featured performer and the slam; sign up BEFORE 7:30 as signup is limited and will only be allowed after 7:30 if less than 8 are in the slam.

The Next Chapter: Mapping Out Your Future
A Two Day Seminar With Nancy Dennis, ACC
Saturday/Sunday • November 9/10 • 8:30am-5pm • $250 RSVP by Oct. 10/$300 after Oct. 10 • RSVP 402.557.0505

John is thinking about making a career change.  He is not ready to retire, but he is ready to do something totally different.  He has some ideas, but just can’t get a clear sense of how to proceed.  One thing he knows for certain – he is ready for The Next Chapter.Susan retired last year.  She thought she would be content spending time with her grandchildren and just kicking back.  Although she does enjoy these things, there is this persistent thought that there is still something important she is meant to do.  She just does not know what that is.  She does know she is ready for The Next Chapter.Janice has been thinking about writing a book for years now, but is still committed to the 9 – 5 job.  She knows she can do both – she has the time, but it will be a challenge.  If only she had a road map to follow, she would know she was making forward progress.  Adopting the mentality of an artist is a big adjustment.  Even though it means a lot of change, she is ready for The Next Chapter.
THE NEXT CHAPTER is designed to align purpose, passion and personal talents in a powerful and enriching way.   In this seminar, Nancy Dennis guides you through a variety of hands on exercises guaranteed to bring about fresh and exciting awareness.  The first day is all about exploration, uncovering your hidden genius and talents.Day two builds upon this by designing a practical roadmap to boldly and confidently step into The Next Chapter.  You will discover some of the typical ways progress has been thwarted in your past, and how to take a new and different approach to ensure future success.  With a clear plan of action, you will be able to track your progress as you move forward.

This seminar is for anyone who wants to bring about a transformational change in their life.  College students who are thinking about changing majors, parents who are now ‘empty nesters’, people thinking about starting a new business, people who are ready for a more meaningful and fulfilling life – where ever you are on your path, if change is on the horizon, The Next Chapter will help you get there.

Nancy Dennis, ACC  Coaching, Workshops, Speaking is a professionally trained and certified coach, accredited through the International Coaching Federation.  She has coached individuals and teams since 2009, and leads workshops for professional development and personal enrichment.

 in this OYBC exclusive workshop.

Saturday - 9:30am-6:00 pm (with lunch break) *includes 90 minute yoga class
Sunday - 10:00-5:00 pm (with lunch break)

Study the ancient philosophical and scriptural texts that are the foundation of the Yoga tradition with the president of the Himalayan Institute in this OYBC exclusive workshop. The clearest exposition of yoga philosophy is found in two texts: The Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. These classics lay out the journey of yoga from beginning to end. Join Dr. Sovik for a weekend focused on the study of both texts - a blend that will satisfy body, mind, and heart. The philosophy of yoga helps form a broad understanding of life. Among the important themes to consider is the notion of karma. By grasping the significance of karma you can develop new strategies for living while making sense of the functioning of your mind and heart. Among the resources to draw on for this are the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and most important, your own practice. Rediscover the ancient theories of karma and consider how they lead to a cyclical idea of life. In the process, create a healing perspective that enlivens every aspect of your yoga practice.

He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology as well as degrees in philosophy and music.
