This Void Beckons: Book Tour and Signing with Author A.J.K. O'Donnell
Saturday, April 28th / 7-9 pm

"in conversation with a.j.k. o'donnell" is a part of the "This Void Beckons" Book Tour series presented by the Colin Higgins Foundation and the Nebraska Writers Collective. o'donnell's second literary collection, This Void Beckons, has been deemed "a dazzling epic of creative genius; a sumptuously detailed, soul-searching, thought-provoking, poetic odyssey of self-examination and self-discovery" and "a work that is sorely needed at this point in history". She will be spending the evening in conversation with the Executive Director of the advocacy organization Black and Pink and award-winning musician Dominique Morgan, discussing her second collection. The event will include dialogues with audience Q/A as well as a meet and greet with o'donnell afterward for book signings.

The bulk of the workshop will be focused on learning how to understand and use our dreams to enhance our lives. We will do this primarily through discussion of actual dreams that you bring.

Please bring a dream or dreams to the workshop to share. Recurring dreams can be especially useful.

* Dreams as inner guides. The bulk of the workshop will be focused on learning how to understand and use our dreams to enhance our lives.

Jan and Richard are retired social work professors and have taught courses on dream interpretation, symbolism, and mythology for more than 35 years. Richard has authored the book: Authentic Spirituality: The Direct Path to Consciousness and together Jan and Richard wrote: Spiritual Development for Beginners: A Simple Guide to Leading a Purpose-filled Life.  


Hearing the Heroine's/Hero's Call Workshop with Cathy Burgess

During this first experiential gathering, which is a three-day nonresidential workshop, we draw upon action methods and expressive arts to help us explore how myth calls us to a Spirituality that includes facing Life, Death, and the Feminine in Self and Society; discover the cycles and challenges embedded personally and collectively in the journey of the heroine/hero; and learn how we might deepen our compassion for self and others in preparing for this transformational process.
